Back in 2016 when they were still a Championship club, Wolves completed the £3m signing of little-known Angers midfielder Romain Saiss, where he penned a four-year contract with the Midlands-based outfit.

The 30-cap Morocco international arrived on these shores to little fanfare. He was hardly a marquee signing, and very much an unknown quantity - he either could've been a masterstroke from Fosun, or a complete failure.

As it happens, Fosun's tenth signing after taking charge of Wolves decided to swim instead of sink, developing into a fine player under Nuno and one who is proving to have been worth every last penny.

Saiss will soon reach 150 appearances at Molineux - he is currently on 134 - and the midfielder-turned-centre-back has enjoyed quite the ride at Wolves.

His first season with the club - the 2016/17 campaign - saw Wolves fail to achieve promotion to the Premier League, although they did so in style the following year by going up as champions.

Saiss made 37 starts and 42 in total that term, scoring four goals to help Wolves return to the big time, where he has shown no signs of being out of his depth.

The 29-year-old has 44 Premier League appearances for Wolves under his belt, helping them sit sixth in England's top-flight as things stand while he has also made six appearances in their run to the Europa League last 16.

Nowadays, some players can cost millions and achieve similar success, but what makes Saiss excellent value for money is the fact that he has only cost Wolves £4.07m in wages since arriving on 30th August 2016 - he has earned £22k-a-week from that date to now.

For true Wolves fans only: How much did each of these players cost?

Add that to his £3m transfer fee, and the Moroccan has played a huge role in Wolves' recent rise, and all for the price of just £7.07m - it truly was a masterstroke from Fosun to bring Saiss to Molineux.

In other news, Nuno should make these two tasks his priority this summer...
