Wolverhampton Wanderers fell to yet another defeat last night, as Steve Davis was unable to make it back-to-back wins following their narrow victory over Nottingham Forest last weekend.

Despite racing into a lead through a rare Adama Traore strike, two second-half goals gave the victory to Crystal Palace in a closely fought encounter.

It now marks just two wins in their 11 Premier League matches, as they sit just one place and one point outside the relegation zone.

Also still without a manager, the search goes on to replace Bruno Lage, who was sacked nearly two weeks ago now.

Whilst Davis set his team up in a relatively solid fashion, he was let down by a few choice names.

However, the standout underperformer was midfielder Boubacar Traore, who failed the test in his first start for the club.

It marks his fourth appearance for the club, and one he will want to forget quickly.

He was given the worst rating on the field by SofaScore of 6.3 and put in a wasteful midfield performance that will leave fans calling for Joao Moutinho’s imminent return.

The 21-year-old was invisible for large parts of the game, only touching the ball 23 times and completing just ten passes.

Even Jose Sa managed far more, as he successfully completed 23 passes.

His wastefulness is best outlined through the fact that he lost possession eight times, meaning he would lose the ball every 2.9 touches.

Deployed in a more defensive role, he could be somewhat excused if he at least dominated the midfield with a workmanlike display.

However, some would argue that defensively he managed to be even worse.

The Malian midfielder lost three of his ten duels, and only managed to make two tackles all game

He was unsurprisingly dragged off after just 58 minutes. Davis had seen enough.

Having been given his chance, it can be expected that it will be some time before Traore is handed another start again.

This performance will certainly have not endeared him to any potential incoming managers.
