Wolves: Luke Hatfield drops Adama Traore contract claim

Luke Hatfield has dropped a worrying update on Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore.

In a recent interview with Give Me Sport, The Express & Star journalist suggested that the 25-year-old’s ongoing contract negotiations, as well as the reported interest in the Spain international, could be a reason why the forward looks to have lost his position as a first-team regular under the leadership of Bruno Lage.

Speaking about Traore’s current situation, Hatfield said: “Some fans were saying Crystal Palace was more a game for Adama Traore. But, with his contract situation at the moment, I think [there are] things going on behind the scenes with him not playing as much.”

While Traore has started just two of Wolves’ last five Premier League fixtures, the winger has nevertheless been in impressive form for the Black Country club so far this season.

As such, the fact the 45-year-old Wolves boss could continue to leave the dangerous winger on the bench as a potential result of both the 25-year-old’s ongoing contract negotiations and the interest in his services ahead of the January transfer window will surely leave the Molineux faithful fuming, as Traore is clearly one of their side’s most influential players in attack.

Furthermore, the uncertainty surrounding the Spaniard’s future will also be extremely disconcerting for fans, as the prospect of losing the forward’s services permanently in January is undoubtedly an eventually that everyone associated with Wolves is not prepared to consider.
