Wolverhampton Wanderers are currently the lowest goalscorers in England's top four divisions with just five league goals to their name so far this season, an issue which Steve Davis must fix if the Old Gold are to avoid relegation back to the Championship.
In the absence of last season's top goalscorer Raul Jimenez, Sasa Kalajdzic was brought to Molineux by Bruno Lage in the hope that he could fire the Midlands club up the Premier League table.
However, an ACL injury suffered by the Austrian on his debut against Southampton left Wolves desperately short of attacking options, with the likes of Leanardo Campana and Fabio Silva inexplicably sent out on loan by Lage.
Diego Costa was brought in to try and prevent Wolves' slide down the table but the veteran striker has done nothing to suggest thus far that he is the man to keep the Old Gold up this season.
Therefore, with fellow attackers Hwang Hee-Chan and Goncalo Guedes not firing, Davis might consider turning towards the academy for a solution to their goalscoring woes.
One man who could provide something different in Wolves' attack is 17-year-old, Nathan Fraser.
The teenager hit seven goals and two assists in just 18 appearances for the U18s last season and was promoted to the U23s as a result.
He has been a regular in the Premier League 2 so far this season, so will be well known to current management duo Davis and James Collins, having scored once in nine Premier League 2 appearances.
Jonathan Hunter-Barrett, head of coaching and football operations, spoke highly of Fraser after he signed his first professional deal earlier this year.
He said: “Nathan scores goals, it’s as simple as that. Any setbacks he’s had have been down to injuries or growth, he’s aggressive and strong, and is a good target up the pitch.”
The young forward has also previously been described as "one to watch" by Athletic journalist Tim Spiers, so with Wolves struggling so much for attacking threat in the Premier League, now could be the perfect time for Davis to unleash Fraser in the first team.
