Wolverhampton Wanderers have seemingly identified Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou as a potential candidate to fill the managerial void at Molineux, following the recent departure of Bruno Lage.

According to the Telegraph, the 57-year-old is a figure that has been 'discussed' among those at the Midlands side as a potential successor to the Portuguese coach, although there are 'doubts' as to whether he would move on from Parkhead at present.
The Greek-Aussie had been linked with the briefly vacant position at Brighton and Hove Albion prior to Roberto De Zerbi's recent arrival, while the former Yokohama boss is also said to have admirers at champions, Manchester City.
The report suggests that the club's ownership group, Fosun, are looking to make an appointment before this weekend's Premier League clash with Chelsea, having relieved Lage of his duties on Sunday following the recent 2-0 defeat to West Ham United.
Beautiful football
Such links with the Hoops boss should well spark excitement among Wolves supporters, with the title-winning coach having worked wonders during his time in Glasgow, turning a previously stumbling outfit into a real force, both domestically and in Europe.
The Glasgow side had finished 25 points behind rivals Rangers prior to Postecoglou's appointment last summer after a miserable end to Neil Lennon's time in charge, albeit with the then unknown quantity overcoming a slow start to steer the Old Firm giants to both Scottish Premiership glory and League Cup success.
Such stunning form had even seen the club go 38 games unbeaten in Scotland's top-flight, prior to a recent defeat to St Mirren, with the Bhoys currently on course to defend their title having won seven of their opening eight league games thus far.
Not just a ruthless winner, however, it is the manner in which Postecoglou's men have performed that has drawn admirers, with the one-time Australia head coach having been lauded by pundit Owen Hargeaves for his progressive approach, with the former England international stating:
"They go at everyone. Ange Postecoglou and the way he plays with beautiful attacking football, he goes after everyone. He wants to play attacking football and this is what they do. They’re good in possession, in transition, they’ve got good attacking players.
“It’s really nice football. He’s playing such good football at Celtic that the Premier League is going to take notice. To do it in Europe and the Champions League, people want to do it with style and that’s what his teams do. They have style which fans love. Celtic fans love it.”
Such an attacking and 'beautiful' approach has seen the Scottish giants become somewhat prolific in front of goal, having already netted 27 goals in the league alone thus far, after bagging 92 goals last season.
That is a far cry from what the Wolves faithful have had to witness under Lage in recent times, with the Old Gold having scored just three league goals so far this season, having netted only 38 goals in just 38 league games last season - the fourth-worst record in the division.
If Postecoglou is able to translate his free-flowing and exciting style of play to Molineux - should Fosun land their target - then the club could well be in for a real treat.
