They've had to wait all weekend for it, but finally, Wolverhampton Wanderers are back in Premier League action and face a trip to Sheffield United.

Their first venture back into Europe ended in quarter-final heartache, though that didn't stop Nuno Santo's side from finishing in seventh in the division.

Matt Doherty's been sold, Jonny is injured, so just how will the Portuguese tactician line up his side at Bramall Lane this evening?

Here's what we are predicting...

The 46-year-old will undoubtedly stick with a three-at-the-back system and we could see a 3-4-3 deployed tonight.

Rui Patricio will be the man between the sticks until he picks up an injury whilst the usual three of Romain Saiss, Willy Boly and Conor Coady are sure to be the defensive line.

There could be one debut with Marcal getting the nod over Ruben Vinagre at left wing-back - with Jonny injured, a key decision needs to be made and Nuno could side with the Champions League semi-finalist.

With no more Doherty, there's surely only one option for the other side and that's Adama Traore, who played in the role at times last season.

In midfield, Portuguese playmaker Joao Moutinho could partner his fellow countryman Ruben Neves with Leander Dendoncker forced to sit on the bench.

It means the front three would be Diogo Jota on the left, Raul Jimenez through the middle and Daniel Podence on the right. The £17m January addition enjoyed a strong end to last season and would surely be disappointed to not be starting with Traore back in defence.

He bagged one goal and two assists post-lockdown.

Other summer signings Fabio Silva and Vitinha will have to settle for a place on the bench alongside the likes of Pedro Neto, Leonardo Campana and Oskar Buur.
